About Me

Welcome to Emberstone Design. My name is Aaron. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and now call Utah home. Along the way, I've also lived in California, Montana, and Wyoming. I've been in Utah for about 11 years and graduated from Utah Valley University with a bachelor's degree in English, specializing in Rhetorical Theory and Writing Studies.

My wife and I have been married for over four years. We share our home with our dog, Abba, and in 2025 we welcomed our son, who has been the greatest adventure of our lives.

My career in the knife industry began at Blade HQ as a copywriter before expanding into social media, photography, and graphic design. That experience eventually led me to Chaves Knives, where I've spent the past three years serving in a variety of roles, primarily as Brand Manager and Marketing Specialist.

I never imagined building a career in the knife industry, let alone designing knives of my own. My time at Blade HQ exposed me to thousands of designs from makers around the world, giving me a deep appreciation for the industry's diversity and creativity. Moving to Chaves Knives offered a different perspective by showing me the power of restraint, clean lines, and purposeful design. That philosophy continues to shape my own work.

Emberstone Design exists as a place to share the projects and designs I'm creating, along with the stories behind them. Every concept begins with an idea worth exploring, whether it's inspired by film, video games, mythology, or the outdoors. Thank you for taking the time to follow along and support my work.
